Speed
Our globally distributed Content Storage Network (CSN) automatically routes users to the closest storage node to store and deliver content, allowing users to access storage just as if they were on their local network and removing the restrictions and bottlenecks caused by international internet carriers.
Low latency – Reducing network hops and closing the distance between servers and users cuts latency to a minimum. This means faster access to files and reduced chances for network connection failures.
Faster than a CDN – CDNs are useful for files that need to be globally distributed and have many viewers. More …
Why CDNs do not solve all delivery needs
- Rarely viewed files are slow on CDNs due to the need to load them into cache. GRIDBLAZE is smart enough to know if a file is commonly used and will decide if it should be cached into a CDN or delivered straight from storage.
- User Generated Content is typically viewed by the user or the user’s network of friends/co-workers. The access to these files commonly occurs within a local region. By storing data on a CSN and delivering data using it, users cut down the access times by dropping the CDN layer and global internet route.
Scalibility
Unified Global Storage Space – View and treat all your globally distributed objects as if they ware all in one unified volume. The path specifies the storage address of the file but on a macro view, everything looks just as it would on just one storage volume. Simple and clean.
CDN when needed – There are many instances where a CDN is needed for global distribution and high access speeds. GRIDBLAZE automatically serves all content through our CDN to ensure optimal delivery speeds through a global network of over 31 locations.
Reserved Capacity Scaling – With thousands of storage servers and our distributed system of storage and delivery.
You can be sure that GRIDBLAZE will be able to handle any situation that you might face. We work with some of the world’s largest storage providers and build our own infrastructure to supplement where needed.
Cost
Pay as you use – Do you only need 100Mb or have a requirement for Petabytes of data storage? You only pay as you use and you will never need to worry about provisioning hardware or coming up with any upfront capital cost.
Free tier – All good things come with something free and GRIDBLAZE is no exception. Enjoy 3 months use of 5GB on the house. You can try it or use it for your development; we just want to spread the love!
Comparison – There’s no other service like us out there and we are not just saying it. Compare it here.
Reliability
99.99% Availability – Working with the best cloud providers and network carriers enables us to provide you an SLA that matters (not in beta period).
Globally distributed Anycast system – When one node fails, our Anycast system enables you to keep uploading and accessing files seamlessly.
Redundancy built in – Our storage and delivery nodes are made to fail gracefully (if there is such a thing). As such when one bows out, another is always ready to take over. All data in the GRIDBLAZE network is replicated at least 4 times with at least once in a separate region for absolute reliability. More …
Security
Keeping your content safe is always important and for this reason we tie up with some of the most trusted names in the storage space to ensure that your data is replicated and kept safe from tampering. All storage on our CSN is publically accessible at the moment but we are working to incorporate access control and hotlink prevention.
SSL connections for ingest and access of content are being worked on actively . Take a look at our roadmap
Easy Integration
Using GRIDBLAZE to power your web service is as simple as tweaking the ingest POST URL of your upload script. Send the object to us and we will automatically route it to the closest storage node and pass you the URL after successful storage. We have sample scripts in PHP, Ruby, Python and Java for your use.
Alternative access methods include a fully Openstack SwiI to allow you to maintain any legacy systems that uses Openstack. With this API, can also use a whole host of 3rd party applications to manage your data such as Cyberduck etc.
